(St. Louis, MO)  —  Drivers heading downtown on a beautiful Fall weekend will encounter some inconveniences.

MODOT will completely close I-44 between Kingshighway and Jefferson Avenue starting at 8 o’clock tonight.

The weekend ramp closures include the Lafayette and Jefferson Avenue ramps onto I-44 west, the ramps from Vandeventer and Grand onto eastbound-44 and the ramp from northbound I-55 onto westbound I-44.

Crews are going to replace the driving surface on Compton Avenue over I-44.  Everything on I-44 is set to reopen by 5am  Monday morning.
