March is INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S MONTH. Join us in thanking Jennifer, Wendy, Julie, and Heidi for all they do for 550 and what a great voice they are to all of our programming all year long. YOU GO GIRLS!

Jennifer Blome

Jennifer’s broadcasting career spans four decades in news.
She became the first morning news anchor in St. Louis, when KSDK launched Today in St. Louis in the early 1980s. For 22 years, Jennifer co-anchored the morning news with Art Holliday.

After leaving KSDK in 2014, Jennifer worked as Director of Humane Education at the APA of Missouri.  She and her group of volunteers visited area schools, teaching children empathy, kindness and responsible pet guardianship.  Jennifer started a Prison Art Program where offenders at three Missouri  prisons created pet portraits to raise money for homeless animals.

Jennifer earned her Bachelor’s degree in Radio-TV-Film from Bowling Green State University and her Master’s in Social Work from Washington University.  Jennifer had a private therapy practice for five years.

She adopted her dog, Pollyanna, from the APA over five years ago and the two live in St. Louis County.

Wendy Wiese

Wendy has been a fixture in St. Louis media for more than 34 years. She began her career at KMOX, then KTRS, and has been a panelist on the popular Donnybrook program on KETC since 2003.  Wendy is also a recipient of the Ohio State Radio and Television News Directors and Missouri Broadcasters Association awards. She and her longtime partner, Bill Wilkerson, were honored by the St. Louis Press Club as Media Persons of the Year in 1999.

A graduate of Visitation Academy and Fontbonne College, Wendy has been active with numerous organizations including Catholic Charities and as a board member of the Mathews-Dickey Boys and Girls Club. Wendy and her husband of 32 years, Chris Carter, live in Chesterfield, MO.

Wendy is a member of the Missouri Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame Class of 2024

Julie Buck

One of St. Louis’s most well-known and popular broadcasters brings her personality to The Big 550 joining John Carney from 12 pm – 3 pm every weekday.

In addition to being the daughter of St. Louis legend Jack Buck, Julie is the younger sister of national sportscaster Joe Buck. She and her brother Joe also owned J. Buck’s Restaurant.

A lifelong St. Louisan, Julie Buck has achieved much in her life, from owning and directing marketing for the popular J. Buck’s Restaurants to a long and accomplished broadcasting career encompassing both radio and television.

Julie has devoted much of her life to volunteer work, including an alumni member of the St. Louis Children’s Hospital Advisory Board, Kidsmart Advisor and Volunteer, and a volunteer for MICDS.

Not restricting herself to entertainment, Julie is also a successful real estate agent with Laura McCarthy. She lives in St. Louis with her husband and three children.

Heidi Glaus

Heidi Glaus is a broadcast professional with more than 24 years of experience as a reporter and host. After 22 years at KSDK-TV, she decided to jump to talk radio and now hosts “The Heidi Glaus Show with Josh Gilbert.”

Heidi is originally from the small town of New Madrid, Missouri. She started working at KSDK in 1996 as an intern after attending William Woods University where she played basketball and softball. These days she enjoys exploring the country in her RV with her wife, going to as many concerts as possible, and spending time with friends and family, particularly her niece and nephew.

St. Louis Men's Group Against Cancer is a 501(c)3 non-profit, charitable organization whose purposes include raising funds that are directed to specific cancer-related organizations that focus on research, prevention, and care activities in the St. Louis community. Past recipient funds are channeled through various organizations and earmarked for specific programs in the thirty plus charities that benefit the St Louis cancer community. Since 1969, this independent organization has raised millions of dollars for groups such as The Children’s Miracle Network, American Cancer Society, Missouri Baptist Cancer Center, Camp Rainbow, BJC Healthcare, Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center and The Cancer Support Community. We direct funds not just to specific institutions, but to specific projects within those institutions. There is also a follow-up to ensure that the funds are used effectively and as intended.
