HAZELWOOD (KTRS) At a ceremony Wednesday night at the regular meeting of the Hazelwood City Council, the Hazelwood “Life-Saving Award” was presented to several lifeguards who played key roles in saving the life of a woman who went into cardiac arrest a couple of weeks ago at the Hazelwood Aquatic Center. Her condition was heat-related.
At the Hazelwood City Council meeting, the woman the lifeguards saved was there as well to say “thank you” to the young people for saving her life. In addition, one of the Hazelwood Firefighter/Paramedics, Capt. Veronica Dolan, was in attendance as well as the ER physician who treated the victim.
