( KTRS ) Kirkwood Police are investigating a armed robbery that took place in broad daylight.

Authorities report the robbery happened around 2:30 Monday afternoon in 100 block of West Jefferson. Police say the victim, a woman in her 70’s, was walking to her vehicle when an unknown man approached her, brandished a gun and demanded her purse.

The victim cooperated, gave the purse to the man but was then knocked to the ground as the he fled.

The suspect left the area in a grey, extended cab 4×4 truck with tinted windows.

The suspect is described as White male, 35-45 years of age Approximately 6 foot tall, heavy set build Reddish balding hair and short facial hair
