St. Louis, MO  (KTRS)   A woman is dead after a hit and run accident in north St. Louis and a man who tried to help her was hit by a second vehicle.

Police say this the woman was crossing at North Broadway and Christian Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. That’s when a speeding vehicle hit her and took off. A man who stopped to help her was hit by another passing vehicle.

The woman was transported to the hospital, where she later died. Her name hasn’t been released.

The surviving victim is said to be in stable condition.  Police are still looking for the hit and run driver.
