WELLSTON, Mo. (AP) – A St. Louis woman is facing charges for a shooting on a light rail platform.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 27-year-old Teanna Lechelle Deloch is charged with second-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. She is jailed on $40,000 bond.
Police say Deloch carried a .38 caliber revolver in her purse Wednesday morning and pulled it out after a dispute with another woman spilled from a MetroLink train onto the platform at the Wellston stop. They say she dropped the gun but it fired when she picked it up, striking the victim in the shoulder.
The injured woman is expected to survive.
