Wentzville, MO (KTRS) Efforts continue to raise awareness about the area’s heroin epidemic.
This weekend the Wentzville Police Department will host the “Walk To Stop Heroin.” The event is aimed at increasing awareness about the dangers of heroin use and to provide the community with available resources. Following the, participants will hear from individuals who have been affected by heroin.
According to the National Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, 462 people died from heroin and prescription drug overdoses in the St. Louis area last year.
The walk will begin at Heartland Park at 9 a.m. Saturday and end at the Wentzville Police Department’s Law Enforcement Center
