( KTRS ) University of Missouri leaders are set to speak with state lawmakers following criticism from the Legislature over recent turmoil on the Columbia campus.
University of Missouri System Interim President Mike Middleton is scheduled to speak during a hearing, later today.
The hearing comes amid lawmaker frustration with the University of Missouri. Complaints include criticism of leadership during November protests in Columbia over what student activists said was administrators’ indifference to racial issues. Others have slammed the university for not firing an educator who was suspended over a videotaped confrontation with student journalists during protests.
The chairman of the committee says he’s asked leaders to explain how concerns will be addressed.
