(KTRS) – The trial of Sunset Hills Mayor Mark Furrer is over after a judge declared a mistrial today.

Furrer was accused of intentionally hitting a bicyclist with his car last year. Furrer told the jury he never his the cyclist, Randy Murdick. The Post-Dispatch reports the trial headed toward a mistrial after lawyers started questioning Furrer over a settlement offer in a civil case involving Murdick.

The jury was seated Monday and heard testimony starting on Tuesday. The judge declared a mistrial after speaking with both attorneys, but gave no explanation for his decision.
