( KTRS ) The Illinois Budget stand-off is still sending ripples throughout the state. Residents will most likely notice it at the state fair.
Officials say the entry fee for the Illinois State Fair has been raised, and preview night is no longer free – but, they’ve added a free concert that features Dan Hampton, Otis Wilson and Steve McMichael of the 1985 Super Bowl champion Chicago Bears.
A new smartphone app have also been created for the fair. Visitors can use it to buy concert tickets early, take an agricultural tour and check out sites to see.
The fair runs Aug. 11 to Aug. 21. Admission is now $10, up from $7, with discounts for seniors, kids under 12 get in free.
