St. Louis county police are investigating a taxi driver’s claim that he shot a passenger in self defense.
Police responded to a call around 1 this morning to eastbound 70 and Jennings Station Road where they found a 48-year old man shot dead in the back of a taxi minivan.
The 70 year old driver who claimed self defense was taken into custody while the investigation continues.
Police say the taxi driver told them an argument between the two prompted the shooting because the driver said he was in fear for his life.
