Chesterfield, MO  (KTRS)   A suspect is being sought in connection with a near child abduction in Chesterfield.

Police say on Saturday a 13-year-old girl went to the family’s SUV at Premium Outlet Mallwhile her mother stayed at the curb, several yards away. A man then approached her and asked if anyone else was close by.

The girl claims the man told her to get into the SUV and give him the keys. Police say the man covered her mouth and told her not to scream.

The girl broke free and was able to run to her mother.

The suspect is described as a heavy set white male, six feet tall, with red hair and beard, blue eyes, and freckles. He was wearing a baseball hat and a grey t-shirt with a red button-up shirt over it, and a tattoo on his fingers.
