What began as police chasing a stolen vehicle, ended with a suspect in the hospital after an officer-involved shooting.

Tuesday afternoon, police spotted a stolen vehicle and tried to pull the driver over, but the suspect sped away. Police ended the chase by suing spike strips, causing the driver to crash into a fire hydrant. That is when police say the suspect got out of the car and pointed a gun at officer.

The suspect was shot and is in critical but stable condition. No officers were injured.
