St. Louis, MO  (KTRS)  A suspect is hospitalized  after being shot by police in north St. Louis.

Police say the incident happened Thursday afternoon when officers tried to pull over a vehicle that was reported stolen. Officers used spike strips to disabled the vehicle and that’s when two suspects jumped out of the vehicle in the 3800 block of Maffitt.

Police say one of the suspects pointed a gun toward an officer. That’s when the officer shot him. He is listed in stable condition.

The other suspect was taken into custody.
