ST. LOUIS (KTRS) The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office has charged 43-year-old Kevin Thomas of the 4600 block of Cottage in the Ville neighborhood with manslaughter in the death of another St. Louis man Friday. Police were called to the residence Thursday morning and found 34-year-old Charles Petty suffering from a gunshot wound to his head. He had been sitting with his girlfriend in his apartment when a bullet fired from another apartment struck him in his head. Petty was taken to a local hospital where he died early Friday. His girlfriend was not hurt.

Police say the suspect was taken into custody a short time later. Thomas has been charged with 1st degree involuntary manslaughter, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm. Bond is set at $150,000 cash-only.
