(KTRS) – A St. Louis County man is facing charges connected to the death of a 21-month-old child.

Police were called to a north county home Wednesday on reports of a sick child. When they arrived, they found John Wilbourne had injuries to his head and torso. He later died that the hospital.

Vincent Jones Jr., the boy’s step father, has been charged with murder, prosecutors believe he beat the child to death.
