JEFFERSON CITY (AP) Missouri Republican state Representative Cloria, who represented parts of St. Louis County, Brown has died. Her legislative assistant, Brenda Frank, on Monday said she had died at age 75 after battling cancer.
Brown first won election to the Missouri House in 2010. She represented part of suburban St. Louis, including Mehlville.
Brown was known for sponsoring legislation to require businesses to hang posters advertising the national human trafficking hotline. Another lawmaker took up the measure following her illness, and Gov. Eric Greitens signed the bill into law this month.
Republican Senate Majority Leader Mike Kehoe in a Monday statement touted Brown’s work on the bill and said she worked “tirelessly” to help women, children and other vulnerable groups.
Brown previously worked as vice president of information systems for MasterCard International and as a software tech manager.
