St. Louis, MO (KTRS) Rams owner Stan Kroenke claims that St. Louis is no longer a good home for the team.
According to the “St. Louis Post Dispatch”, Kroenke informed the NFL, that despite “significant” investments in the team, game attendance “has been well below the League’s average.” He also addressed St. Louis’ plan for a new riverfront stadium, stating that “any NFL Club that signs on to this proposal in St. Louis will be well on the road to financial ruin, and the League will be harmed.”
Meanwhile the St. Louis Stadium Task Force is firing back. In a released statement, stadium task force officials say “the Rams’ assessment of their experience in St. Louis after 21 seasons of remarkable support by fans, businesses and the community is inaccurate and extremely disappointing.”
The task force also says they plan to stay in contact with the NFL and team owners in the days ahead.
