UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. (AP) – The death of a 70-year-old man in University City marks the third time since 2013 that a victim has been fatally stabbed inside a home in the St. Louis suburb. Police are investigating to determine if there is a connection.

August Lombardo was killed inside his two-family home. A co-worker found his body about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Two other men were stabbed to death in a University City home in 2013. The killings were within a block of each other. Robbery was a factor in each crime, and the victims were found when concerned relatives or co-workers noticed they failed to show up for work. All three remain unsolved.

Police tell the St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1OCBHkx ) that the similarities have not gone unnoticed, and are being investigated.
