St. Louis, MO (KTRS) The excessive heat continues.
A heat advisory remains in effect through Thursday evening in the St. Louis region. The National Weather Service is calling for temperatures to reach the upper 90s with a heat index of up to 105.
Health officials warn that these temperatures can be dangerous for those without air conditioning, especially the elderly. Anyone in need of a cooling center should call the United Way at 2-1-1.
The Humane Society of Missouri also reminds the public that this extreme heat can be dangerous for animals. It’s advised to keep pets in a cool enviroment with access to plenty of fresh water.
