ST. LOUIS (AP) – A St. Louis city police officer is suing the department and three supervisors, claiming he was sexually harassed and retaliated against after he complained.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1MxCzsU ) reports that Kyle Brewer’s lawsuit names a police captain and two sergeants.

The lawsuit says that Brewer was subjected to harassment by supervisors and co-workers starting in January, about five months after he was assigned to a detective bureau.
He said that they at times insinuated he is gay. Brewer’s lawyers say their client is not gay but doesn’t fit the culture of former military personnel brought into the district.

A spokeswoman for the city declined immediate comment about the lawsuit.
