The search continues for a suspect accused of dragging a St. Louis County police officer during a traffic stop. The incident happened at just before eight last night outside of the Oakpark Apartments in Spanish Lake.
Authorities say two officers were conducting a traffic stop for a license plate violation. At some point, the suspect allegedly grabbed one of the officer’s arms and pinned him against the steering wheel. He then sped off and dragged the officer about 300 feet. Police say the officer managed to fire off three shots before freeing himself. He was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. He has since been released.
The suspect is described as an African-American male with a go-tee, possibly in his twenties or thirties. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a silver or light grey late 1990’s Oldsmobile Aurora with a partial temporary tag of “00N”.
