St. Louis, MO  (KTRS)   The St. Louis area is gearing up for the first winter storm of the season.

The National Weather Service is calling for 2-4 inches of snowfall over the weekend.  Rain is expected to change into snow Saturday afternoon.  The snow is expected to end early Sunday morning.

This will be followed by colder temperatures. On Sunday, highs are expected to only reach into the low 20’s, with a low in the single digits.

Cold temperatures are expected to remain through Monday and Tuesday.
