St. Louis, MO (KTRS) Police are investigating the deadly shooting of a professional boxer in south St. Louis.
Police say 26-year-old Michael Williams was sitting in the back of a vehicle in the 2900 block of South Jefferson around 1 a.m. Saturday when three male suspects approached the vehicle and exchanged words with him. That’s when one of the suspects pulled out a gun and opened fire, according to police.
Williams was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No arrests have been made.
Williams had competed in tournaments for the USA Ring Side and won a Golden Glove.
