Within a span of 14 days St. Charles City Police say the suspect has gone into the banks, handed the tellers a ‘hold up’ note while implying he has a weapon, and fled with unspecified amounts of money.
He has hit the First State Bank on Old Highway 94, the Commerce Bank on St. Peters Parkway and the Regions Bank on First Capitol.
In addition, investigators say they have him on surveillance tapes at other banks and credit unions in St. Charles but did not rob them. They suspect he was casing the institutions and are calling him a ‘serial robber’.
The suspect is a white male, 5-foot-4 -to 5-foot-6, thin, about 140-to-160 pounds.
Lieutenant Chad Fisk said -quote-“We’re anticipating that he’ll probably rob another one in the next two to three days based on his pattern”-end quote.
While banking institutions have been provided with his photo, police welcome tips from the public as well. If you recognize the person in the picture, contact St. Charles City Police or CrimeStoppers.
