( KTRS ) Temperatures are climbing to dangerous levels in several Midwest this week.
The National Weather Service has issued heat advisories for parts of Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana.
Dozens of cooling centers have been set up through out the area, a list of them can be found online at 211helps.org.
Thursday was expected to be the hottest day, with temperatures in the mid- to upper-90s. Temperatures are expected to drop slightly into the lower 90s across the area over the weekend. Missouri and northeast Kansas will get some relief next week, with temperatures expected to drop to the upper 80s.
Elsewhere, temperatures will remain in the 90s.
