( KTRS ) Authorities are investigating after skeletal remains were found, behind a church, in North St. Louis County.

Police say the remains were found Wednesday evening by a grounds crew, working at the Lutheran Church of Living Christ on New Halls Ferry Road. The Bureau of Crimes Against Persons is handling the investigation.

At this time the identity of the deceased in unknown. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
