(KTRS) – Senator Claire McCaskill is heading on the road in an effort to find ways to make college more affordable.

Senator McCaskill started her College Affordability Tour at Metro High School Monday. The senator is calling college and student debt a crisis. According to one study Missouri students graduate college with more than $20,000 in debt.

McCaskill is supporting a bill that would allow people who have high interest student loans to refinance at lower rates.
