(KTRS) – Senator Claire McCaskill is one of two lawmakers leading the charge against cable companies overcharging customers.
McCaskill and Senator Rob Portman held a hearing with representatives from five cable companies, including Charter. McCaskill says not only do the companies sometimes charge customers more than they should, but she has first-hand experience with how difficult it can be to get charges removed from a bill. The Senator released an excerpt of a 26-minute call she made to have a charge removed from her cable bill.
During McCaskill’s investigation, Charter admitted to overcharging nearly 6,000 customers almost half-a-million dollars annually.
