ST. LOUIS (KTRS) Former Missouri U.S. Senator John Danforth says he’s concerned about the future of the Republican Party in the era of President Trump. Senator Danforth, who retired from the Senate in 1995, wrote an opinion column that appears in Friday’s edition of the Washington Post.
On the McGraw Show, Senator Danforth worried that there’s too much divisiveness within the GOP today and that it could lead to far-reaching consequences for the party and the nation. He said he still believes in his party’s ability to lead the nation but he thinks it’s missing its opportunity.
Senator Danforth served Missouri in the U-S Senate for 19 years.
