( KTRS ) A second teen has died from their injuries after a fatal crash in Jennings.

Police report that the accident happened Friday night after the vehicle struck a tree. At the time of the crash there were six teens in the car.

One teen, identified as 16 yr old Theodore Barnett III, died at the scene, a second victim, identified as 15 yr old Michael Leachman, was rushed to hospital but later died from his injuries. The other four inside the vehicle were taken to hospital with serious – critical injuries.

Police say careless/imprudent driving at excessive speeds is believed to be the cause.

The driver was an unlicensed 16 year old female. She will be referred to St. Louis County Family Courts for her role in the incident.
