CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) – The committee tasked with finding a new chancellor for Southern Illinois University’s Carbondale campus will start reviewing applications for the job early next year.
The school says its Chancellor Search Advisory Committee will start looking at applicants Jan. 15. The school also has taken out ads looking for nominations and applications in higher education publications.
SIU System President Randy Dunn says he wants the committee “to work as expeditiously as possible.”
Interim Chancellor Brad Colwell’s appointment last through June 30, 2017. Dunn says he’d like to have a new chancellor by late March if possible. He says that’s so someone is in place to address “big decisions that potentially will need to be made later in the spring” specifically, the ongoing lack of a state budget.
