St. Louis, MO (KTRS) A strike is looming over Schnucks markets.
Leaders with the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 655 are recommending that members vote down a three-year contract offer and authorize a strike. Union leaders say they want to use the strike vote to continue negotiations.
If the contract is rejected, a strike isn’t immediate. The union must give a five day strike notice.
Meanwhile, Schnucks’ CEO Todd Schnucks sent a letter to employees, which was published in the “St. Louis Post Dispatch.” Schnucks said told employees in the letter that a no vote “hardly in your best interest.”
The vote is set to take place tonight at the St. Charles Family Arena.
@550KTRS @UFCW655 Take dat Vote and Strike! Jobs will be lost!
