The Humane Society of Missouri is putting up the money after a German Shepherd mix named “Cutie” was shot with a handgun near the intersection of Harney and Thrush around 5 p.m. on Monday. This happened after Cutie had wandered away from her yard according to her owners.
Examination by an AMCMA veterinarian determined that Cutie was suffering from one gunshot wound to the right front shoulder area. Radiographs revealed several metal fragments, consistent with a gunshot wound.
Humane Society of Missouri veterinarian Dr. Julie Brinker said, “The gunshot shattered the top of the humerus bone and we are concerned that her injuries are so serious we may have to amputate her right front leg.” Cutie’s condition is being closely monitored by veterinarians and staff at the Humane Society of Missouri.
Anyone with any information is urged to call the Humane Society’s Animal Cruelty Task Force Hotline at 314-647-4400.
