ST. LOUIS (AP) — Protesters briefly closed a section of highway in downtown St. Louis.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that activists supporting Black Lives Matter blocked Highway 40 in downtown St. Louis for about 15 minutes on Saturday afternoon.
Protesters included participants at Netroots Nation, a national conference of progressive activists being held in downtown St. Louis. They had been at an earlier rally outside the Old Courthouse when about 100 to 150 protesters marched to the entrance ramp to the highway, where they blocked traffic.
A police spokeswoman says the highway has been reopened, and there were no arrests.
