St. Louis, MO  (KTRS)  The intense winter storm that moved through the St. Louis area is blamed for causing numerous problems.

Treacherous driving conditions during the Wednesday morning commute caused accidents roadways in the bi-state area. MODOT and IDOT crews were running on full staff in an effort to clear the roads.

High winds also created havoc.  More than sixty thousand Ameren customers on both sides of the river lost power as a result of downed power lines.

Ameren is urging the public to report downed power lines immediately. You can do so by calling 1-800-552-7583.
