Starting in January TV crews with A&E’s show “The First 48” will be following homicide detectives in St. Louis.
The show’s title “The First 48” refers to a term used by police, in which, those cases that are not solved in the first two days are less likely to be solved at all. The current murder count in St. Louis is at least 182 for this year. There were a total of 188 murders in St. Louis in 2015.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that camera crews are expected to start shadowing the St. Louis homicide squad in mid-January, with plans to air the first episode in June or July.
