(KTRS) – The suspect in a armed robbery is dead, police say he was shot by one of his would-be victims.

The victims were three contractors for a utility company and were working in north county when they were approached by the suspect. They told police that the first two men were robbed at gun point. When the suspect approached the third worker, he told the suspect that his belongings were in the back of a truck. The worker had a gun there and shot the suspect once in the chest.

The suspect died at the scene. Police continue their investigation into the incident.
