( KTRS ) A St. Louis County woman is dead after firing shots at police officers who entered her home after she shot a neighbor three times.

Sergeant Brian Schellman, with the St. Louis County Police Department reports that 61 yr old Sheilah Huck had been acting irrationally outside her home Saturday before shooting a woman who was loading her two children into a car.

The 35-year-old victim was transported to hospital in critical condition, but is expected to survive.

Schellman says members of a tactical operations unit entered Huck’s home after she refused to respond and surrender. Huck then shot at police with a handgun, and two of the officers returned fire and killed her.
