( KTRS ) Police are investigating after a couple was found stabbed to death in their home in Fenton.

St. Louis County police say 65-year-old Michael, and 64-year-old Denise Oppermann may have died during a murder/suicide.

Police were initially called to check on the well-being of the couple. When officers arrived they found all the doors locked and no forced signs of entry. A neighbor provided a spare key and that is when the bodies of the deceased were found inside.

Police say the Oppermanns each had been stabbed several times. At this time, no further details have been released.
