(KTRS) – A burglar is dead, police say he was killed during an attempted home invasion in north county.

The homeowner told police that he heard someone banging on his door around 10:30 and saw two people he did not recognize on his front porch. That is when the man said he went to get his gun and two people suspects broke in through the back door of the house. The homeowner said he shot on of the suspects and the other ran off. Police say they have recovered a gun from the suspect the man shot.

It is not clear if the homeowner will face charges at this time, investigators are still speaking to the man.
