Police have identified the man found dead in Bel-Ridge Friday evening.

Authorities report that the victim has been identified as 19 yr old Michael Gales.

Police were called around 5:30pm Friday to the 4200 block Springdale for a report of shots fired. On Arrival police found Gales dead in the drivers seat of his vehicle. Police say that after Gales was shot, it appears the vehicle he was driving rolled down an embankment and struck an apartment building.

The St. Louis County Police Departments Bureau of Crimes Against Persons Unit is handling the investigation.

At this time, detectives say this shooting appears to be drug related. Anyone with any information about this shooting is asked to contact the police or CrimeStoppers.
