St. Louis County, MO (KTRS) A woman is dead after being shot by police during a stand off in north county over the weekend.
Police say the incident began after 61-year-old Sheilah Huck allegedly shot her neighbor late Saturday morning in the 6600 block of Foothills Court. That’s when Huck barricaded herself in her home.
Investigators say the stand off ended when officers entered Huck’s home about four hours later. According to police, Huck fired at officers. Two St. Louis County police officers returned fire, fatally wounding Huck. Both officers have been placed on administrative leave.
The 35-year-old woman who was allegedly shot by Huck is hospitalized in critical condition. According to police Huck and the victim had no relationship other than the fact they were neighbors. Several neighbors and witnesses reported to police that Huck had been acting erratic prior to the shooting.
