Chesterfield, MO  (KTRS)  A pilot is hospitalized after his plane crashed in Chesterfield.

Authorities say the small plane went down near Spirit of St. Louis Airport around 8 p.m. Sunday. Rescue crews searched in the dark for about two hours before finding the downed plane.

The pilot was the only one on board. There’s no word on his condition. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the F-A-A.
