(KTRS) – A chase involved the Missouri State Highway Patrol ended after a trooper fired at a suspect multiple times, but officials now say the man was not shot.
The Post-Dispatch reports that although the man’s leg was injured, he was not shot. The incident began just after 8 AM Monday when a trooper spotted a speeding vehicle and determined the SUV had been reported stolen. The driver refused to pull over and got off Interstate 70 near Bryan Road. The chase continued for several more miles until the driver pulled into the driveway of an O’Fallon home. Officials say that the Trooper notice the suspect had a gun, that is when the Trooper shot at the man.
It was first reported that the suspect was hit in the leg, but officers later determined the man was not shot.
