(KTRS) – A MetroLink Security Officer and a suspect are in the hospital after a shooting at the Wellston MetroLink station.
The shooting happened around 2 this afternoon and may have stemmed from an incident when the officer approached a rider about an unpaid fare. Fox 2 reports that the rider then pulled a gun and shot the officer in the shoulder. St. Louis County Police responded to the shooting and an officer shot the suspect multiple times.
The conditions of the officer and suspect are not know at this time. MetroLink is not operating in the area while the investigation continues.
