Authorities say a police officer is recovering after accidentally shooting himself during a chase. The officer was pursuing a suspect connected to a series of break-ins in North County.
The fleeing vehicle crashed into another vehicle on W. Florissant Avenue near Lucas and Hunt. Apparently the officer was attempting to remove his gun from it’s holster when he then collided with the bystanders vehicle.
Amazingly the officer was still able to apprehend the suspect and make an arrest, he was then taken to a hospital for treatment. The officers identity has not been released at this time.
