St. Louis County, MO (KTRS) A St. Louis County police officer is recovering after being shot in north county.
Investigators say officers were attempting to arrest a man who was wanted for assault with a firearm at a home in the 10-thousand block of Royal Drive in the Castle Point neighborhood at just after 10:30 p.m. That’s when the suspect exited a side door and allegedly opened fire.
One of the officers suffered a gunshot wound to the arm. That officer’s injuries aren’t said to be life threatening. Police say that officers did not return fire.
The wounded officer has only been with the department for one month.
The 28-year-old suspect was arrested about four hours later. Two females who were inside the home were also taken into custody.
This comes on the heels of the fatal shooting of St. Louis County Police Officer Blake Snyder.
