East St. Louis, IL  (KTRS)  An officer-involved shooting is being investigated in East St. Louis.

Authorities say a man was firing shots in the 1600 block of Gaty Avenue at just after 6 a.m. Monday. The suspect was shot after he allegedly pointed his weapon at police.

No one else was injured  in this incident, but police say some vehicles and homes were hit in the gunfire.

There’s no word on the suspect’s condition or a motive. His name hasn’t been released.
