Des Peres, MO  (KTRS)  The funeral is today for the cancer patient who was beaten to death last week at an Illinois treatment facility.

Investigators say 46-year-old Shannon Vincel was attacked on August 15th while sitting outside her hospital residence at Cancer Treatment Centers of America facility in Zion, Illinois. She died the following day from her injuries.

Vincel’s mother, Anita Adam, said Vincel had finished chemotherapy and was undergoing radiation.

No arrests have been made in the attack. Cancer Treatment Centers of America is offering a $25,000 reward for information in her death.

A visitation and funeral will take place this afternoon at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Des Peres.
